We first saw the design of the Galaxy Flip 4 a month ago today, which is entertaining. CAD-based renders showed that the phone looked almost exactly like the Galaxy Z Flip 3, with a two-tone outer panel, vertical dual cameras, and a small display on the outside.
The top of the device is made of matte glass, while the screen is made of glossy glass. The screen looks about the same size, but we can’t tell because we can’t see the edges in any of these pictures. The matte glass wouldn’t be new to the series, since the black version of the Flip 3 and some other colors were also matte.
Apart from that, we can see the fingerprint sensor on the side and the hinge. There have been rumors that Samsung is changing the way the hinge works, but from the side of the device, it doesn’t look like anything has changed. When the Flip 4 is fully open, though, the two halves look much closer together. Also, the metal border is a lot thinner.
What’s new about the Galaxy Flip 4, anyway?
Not much is known about the Galaxy Z Flip 4 yet, but a rumor says that Samsung could keep the same 6.7-inch internal and 1.9-inch external displays like the Galaxy Z Flip 3. That would make sense since the Flip 3 has a nice design and the outside screen is useful.
Since these photos don’t show us much, what’s new about the Galaxy Flip 4? So far, we’ve heard a few bits and pieces First of all, the device is likely to have a newer Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and more storage options. It is also said that the Flip 4’s screen will have a less obvious crease.
The battery is expected to go from 3,300 mAh all the way up to 3,700 mAh, which will be the biggest change. That’s great news since we found the battery on the Flip 3 to be way too weak and a real downside to the device.
When will Samsung’s Galaxy Flip 4 come out?
Samsung hasn’t said anything official about the Galaxy Flip 4 yet, but there have been rumors about possible release dates, and we can look at the previous models to get a rough idea.
Some news sites point to a post by a Korean tech blogger on the country’s social media site Naver, which said that the new model would be released in the same way as the previous ones.
What will the price be for the Samsung Galaxy Flip 4?
We don’t know anything for sure about the new Flip, so we’ll have to look at how much it cost before getting an idea. Here’s what they cost when they first came out:
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip – £1,300/€1,349/$1,380
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 – £949/$999/€1,049
Between the first and second generations, the price probably went down because the cost of making the product went down. As with most first-generation products, you have to pay more for the newest technology.
The Galaxy Flip 4 is likely to come out in August 2022, around the same time as the Flip 3, and it should cost around $999.
Conclusion
Since it’s still early, a lot of these rumored features could change as the device is made. We’ll add new information to this article as it comes in, so be sure to check back often to see what Samsung has in store. If you have any questions, let us know in the comment section below!
